Why Croatia

If the wonderful natural and architectural beauty found throughout Croatia is not reason enough to justify your investment then you may wish to consider the indicators that suggest this country is a prudent location for your investment.

  • Forecast EU Membership by 2010
  • Massive tourism growth predicted
  • Rich natural and cultural heritage
  • 1185 pristine islands and islets
  • 1777 km of clear Adriatic coastal waters

Croatia can be easily reached by very large numbers of business and leisure travellers. Within a one hour flight of Zagreb live a population of 150 million people and a 2 hour flight captures almost 370 million. A 3 hour flight from Zagreb takes in 600 million people, including residents of the UK, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Russia and Turkey.

The baseline forecasts for Croatia’s travel and tourism are very positive and this obviously will help drive prices upward in the years ahead. The World Travel and Tourism Council (http://www.wttc.org/) 2006 Report forecasts that tourism growth over the next ten years in Croatia will place it 5th out of the 174 countries they surveyed.

Travel and tourism demand is projected to increase by 6.9% per annum over the next ten years.

This growth would exceed, by nearly 50%, expected worldwide growth of 4.5% per annum and, by nearly 66 per cent, the 4.2 percent annual average growth projected for the European Union.

Recent major political and economic reforms in Croatia have promoted stability and open markets. On 17 October 2006, EU foreign ministers formally endorsed a recommendation that Romania and Bulgaria join the EU on 1 January 2007, a year early. The current expectation is that the EU's next wave of enlargement will include Croatia, possibly by the end of the decade.
